九代長江惣吉「曜曜盞」
中国南宋時代に作られ、日本に3碗が残る曜変天目茶碗。中国・建窯の土を用い、唯一、当時の技法研究に迫り、窯の中の変化だけで現代に曜変天目を再現する陶芸家。研究は途上ですが、その過程の中で習得した光彩色を生み出す茶碗を独自の作品として提示しています。曜々盞は、ときに虹、ときにオーロラのような光を茶碗の中に出現させた端正で美しい器物です。
Yohen Tenmoku are teacups made in China during the Southern Song dynasty, and today only three such specimens remain in Japan. Using the clay of Jian ware from China, and pouring research into the best techniques of the time, this artist was the first and only to succeed at recreating a modern version of the Yohen Tenmoku, through alterations to the interior of the kiln alone. While the research itself is still under progress, the luminously colorful teacup that was achieved in the process is exhibited as a unique masterpiece of his own. “Yoyosan” is an impeccable and beautiful pottery piece that emits rainbows at times, and auroras at others.
日本珍藏了3件中國南宋時期所製作的「曜變天目」茶盞。第九代的長江惣吉使用中國當地窯土，為唯一力圖研究古代南宋技術，只利用自然窯變在現代重現「曜變天目」的陶藝家。雖然研究尚未完成，但在研究過程中所習得的光彩色製作方式所作出的茶盞以獨特個人作品方式呈現於此。曜曜盞為一件端正華美的器物，茶碗裡時而綻放出七彩，時而散發出北極光般的光芒。
